I’m New

You’re new at LifePoint, and you have no idea what to expect or what’s going on. That’s okay. We want to make your journey at LifePoint easy as you learn the ropes around here. Ask lots of questions, and take these steps to get started at LifePoint:

  1. Consider what we believe.
  2. Visit a worship experience.
  3. Come to Explore LifePoint.
  4. Attend a community group.
  5. Consider the Navigation Series.

What is Worship Experience?

Every Sunday morning, we come together as a community of Christ-followers to celebrate what God has done in our lives during the week. During this time, Pastor Dennis Smith, along with the band, leads us in worship with LPC original music, traditional hymns, and modern worship songs. Pastor Lane brings us lessons from the Bible and teaches us how to apply God’s Word to our lives. We also give our tithes and offerings, take Communion, and have baptism during Worship Experience.

What is Explore LifePoint?

Explore LifePoint is a relational environment to introduce people to LifePoint Church. We serve a light dinner and refreshments; get to know one another; present an overview of our vision, beliefs, practices, and development; and answer your questions. We conclude the evening by explaining how you can get connected and participate with LifePoint through a community group (aka adult Bible study), servant projects, and other events.

At Explore LifePoint, we provide all the basic and vital information you need to fully experience your journey at LifePoint. We’ve designed Explore to be a ‘no pressure’ event for you to get informed and introduced to LifePoint. We want you to know who we are, what we’re about, why we do what we do, where we do it, and anything else you might have questions about. By design, this session will help you answer questions, such as, “Do I connect with these people?,” “What do they believe and teach?,” “How do I connect with this church?,” “What kind of mission and ministry work do they do?,” and “Is this the church for me?”

Explore is the first step in discovering more about LifePoint. Join us at the next one (They’re scheduled about every month. Check the calendar for the next one.) or contact Micah Osborne, Director of Connection Ministry, at mosborne@lifepointozark.com. Childcare is available for children birth through sixth grade by reservation.

What is Community Group?

Community group is an environment for adults to connect with others, to experience life transformation through the study of God’s Word, to build authentic community, and to learn to live a missional life. Community group is about the gospel working through a small group of people as they minister to one another, serve others, and maximize the impact of God’s Word through them to the world. At LPC, community groups are the primary point of connection for adults. We encourage every adult and expect every member to participate in community group.

For more information about community groups, please contact Matt Solidum, Director of Community Group Ministry, at msolidum@lifepointozark.com.

What is the Navigation Series?

The Navigation Series is a four-class seminar that equips you to grow as a Christ-follower and that helps you fully connect to LPC. The Nav Series is a the pathway to joining the mission of God through LPC to carry the gospel to every nation, beginning with our neighbors. The Nav Series is a requirement for every person desiring membership at LPC.

The Nav Series is divided into four parts:

  1. Core An introduction to membership and core theology at LPC. Teaching the gospel in simple clarity, this class is the foundation to understand and embrace all LifePoint does as a community of Christ-followers.
  2. Compass An introduction to being a real Christ-follower. This session unveils LPC’s vision to build the ethos of every Christ-follower and the environments of the church to impact people of the world. Mission is a lifestyle, not simply an activity in which to be involved. Community is essential to teach, equip, train, and model missional living. “Together” in community encourages Christ-followers and equips the church to accomplish mission.
  3. Culture An introduction to the shape of community created by the compass. We envision a culture of Christ-followers defined by a solid theology, resonating with a strong gospel-centered, missional ethos and structured by a biblical understanding of stewardship, membership, and leadership.
  4. Covenant A study of the relationship between a Christ-follower and the church. This session highlights the blessings and commitment of church membership.

The Nav Series is offered four times a year on Sunday evenings for four consecutive weeks. We serve refreshments and keep the environment casual and engaging. Check our calendar for the next scheduled seminar. If you’re interested attending or want more information, please contact Micah Osborne, Director of Connection Ministry, at mosborne@lifepointozark.com.
